12-for-12

What is 12-for-12?

12-for-12 is a community of people focused on Christian spiritual formation, the process by which each member is becoming increasingly conformed to the person and ways of Jesus in every aspect of our lives.  Groups consist of approximately 8-12 people who commit to meeting together once a month for 12 months.

12-for-12 groups are based on the "cardinal directions of the spiritual life:"

  • Our upward connection to God

  • Our inward transformation

  • Our connectedness to one another in Christian community

  • Our participation in the outward mission of God in the world

12-for-12 Curriculum

12-for-12: A Practical Guide for a Year of Spiritual Formation in Community, written by Pastor Andy Saperstein, is the framework of the 12-month curriculum. This book provides tools and resources for the monthly meetings and formational work in between. Each month focuses on a central facet of spiritual formation and provides homework assignments such as readings, prayer exercises, Scripture engagement, and films.

12-for-12 participants commit to:

  • Meet once a month for approximately three hours.

  • Complete about 2-4 hours of homework a week (10-15 hours per month).

  • Pray for group members each month.

  • Purchase 12-for-12: A Practical Guide for a Year of Spiritual Formation in Community and other books and materials as needed.

  • Fulfill other commitments specific to your particular group as outlined in the application.

Be assured that 12-for-12 commitments are designed to be sustainable for their members in the face of other life and ministry responsibilities.

How to Apply for a Group

Complete the general 12-for-12 application to initiate the group membership process:

  • Each applicant must fill out their own application.

  • If you have already talked with a group leader about joining their group, please be sure and indicate this on the application to help with matching you to their group.

  • Priority is given to Vineyard Columbus leaders, staff and others in the church who are regularly giving their lives in service for the sake of others.

We will contact you within a few days to confirm we have received your application.

If you haven’t requested a specific group, we’ll discuss available groups and schedules so you can pray about which group you would like to join.

Your 12-for-12 group leader will contact you before the group begins so you can finalize your calendar and begin praying for other group members.
